An FBI agent shot and wounded a person while serving a search warrant Monday morning in Sun Valley, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 5:40 a.m. in the 10300 block of Horse Haven Street, said Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department.
FBI spokesman Michael Gifford said in a statement the agent “discharged” their weapon after an altercation and one person was wounded and taken to the hospital.
No law enforcement officers were injured, Gifford said, adding that the shooting was under investigation.

Madison added both LAPD officers and FBI agents were serving the search warrant at the location when the shooting occurred.
The wounded person was hospitalized in critical condition, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Information was not immediately available on the nature of the search warrant.
At the scene on Monday, numerous media trucks lined Horse Haven Street behind yellow police tape near Wildwood Avenue.
LAPD officers behind the police tape directed all inquiries to the FBI.
Most residents in the area did not want to speak to reporters but one man who lived near Horse Haven and Wildwood described the scene.
“This is unusual,” said the man, who declined to give his name, from outside his home. “This is not good. This is usually a safe neighborhood.”
