French Montana paid tribute to J Hus at Wireless Festival on Saturday night in London.

The Unforgettable rapper stopped his set to shout out the London rapper who was forced to pull out of the line up after being charged for carrying a knife in East London.

As a result of the arrest, J Hus was dropped from Wireless Festival, which only yesterday held a minutes silence in memory of the 77 people who have died from violent crime, as well as TRNSMT festival.

Today, as French Montana took to the stage, he spoke of J Hus and told Finsbury Park: I had to rep my boy tonight coz he wasnt going to be here tonight.

He then performed the chorus of J Hus track Did You See in his honour.

Pointing to his top he said: Yall see what Im wearing? in a nod to Englands victory against Sweden, which was screened to the festival goers hours earlier.

The 23-year-old rapper was arrested on 21 June in East London after a vehicle carrying him was stopped by a marked police car.

Police confirmed his arrest to Metro.co.uk in a statement using his real name Momodou Jallow, adding that he was remanded in custody to appear at Thames Magistrates Court on Friday, 22 June.

The occupants of the vehicle were searched and a 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of a knife/bladed article, the statement read, before confirming that the rapper was charged.

Responding to news of the charge, fellow rapper Lethal Bizzle wrote: J Hus. The boy has been to hell and back. Being stabbed is a life changing experience. Im sure he felt he needed to protect himself. I hope the judge takes all into account. Im gonna sit with him at some point and have a grown chat. Hes a star, needs to move different.

Big man ting. Its mine and other olders responsibility to help coach the younger generation. We wasnt lucky enough to have this option. We are the blue print, and we need to help guide them not to make the mistakes we did.

J Hus is yet to directly address the arrest, but wrote online this week: Been seeing a lot of support from fans, artists and family. I appreciate everything, Trust me. Shoutout my team for the work behind the scenes. Also sorry for the cancelled live dates Ive missed out on. Time to finish the album.
