Things are looking up for Marnie Nightingale in Hollyoaks as she and Buster Smith continue to grow close – but as they head out on a date, her attempts to conceal her police tag backfire spectacularly when their meal is interrupted and she is arrested!

Marnie is mortified to be wearing a tag and assumes that Buster won’t be interested in her if he knew that she was on licence but as she tries to enjoy her date, she ends up flouting her curfew as she is not able to get away without exposing the truth to her date.

As the police turn up, Marnie is consumed with embarrassment as she is arrested in front of a bemused Buster – could this dash her hopes of a budding romance or can Buster see past the situation and make a go of things with his potential love interest?

Lysette Anthony, who plays Marnie, explained: ‘She is genuinely aware of the time, but she’s like a moth to the flame with Buster. I am loving this new relationship, it’s an interesting mix and Marnie’s having fun!

‘She likes the fact that he’s really kind to her and clearly adores her. She’s not had a lot of kind men in her life, so he’s a breath of fresh air. One of my favourite scenes was where Marnie just jumped on Buster! When we filmed it, it was only Nathan’s 2nd or 3rd day, but he’s such a good sport and I know how frightening it can be starting here.’

However, as ever in Hollyoaks, the relationship may prove to be a rocky ride as Lysette added a worrying warning. She mused: ‘This is serious fun at the moment, but if we were to look into Myra’s crystal ball, I have a feeling it could end quite badly!’
