Irene (Lynne McGranger) has been shutting herself away from the world as she struggles to process the guilt of what she did to Tommy (Adam Sollis), along with fear about her upcoming trial in court. After snapping at Marilyn (Emily Symons) and being tempted again by alcohol, its clear Irene is in a bad place, and the only person who knows her full story is Leah (Ada Nicodemou).

Wanting to support her friend, Leah encourages her to go down to the station and report the crime which took place many years ago. Although it takes Irene some consideration and a lot of courage, she makes it down there and gives a statement to Colby (Tim Franklin), where she reveals she was sexually abused as a teenager. Although the man is now dead, Irene tells Colby that having the crime on file will give her some closure.

Leah is proud of Irene for making the statement, but wonders why she didnt say anything about what she was doing to Bella, who was also there. Irene says that, while she wants to be honest with everyone, she doesnt think shes strong enough to keep going over what happened and reliving the trauma repeatedly.

Realising there is a way Irene can be honest without needing to keep explaining her story, Leah sets up a video camera for her friend. A brave Irene records a video for Leahs website, where she tells the world about how she was abused when she was younger. She reveals that she kept the events a secret for all this time, but the events keep plaguing her years later. She also reveals that shes the one behind Tommys attack.

Showing up in the Diner, Irene is scared to find out how the community will react. Will they understand her story, or will they be shocked to discover that she was the one behind the violent act that put Tommy in hospital?
