HyunA is finally free.
Korean agency Cube Entertainment has announced today that it has terminated its contract with singer HyunA whose activities were suspended since August after confirming that she was in a romantic relationship with boy band Pentagon member EDawn.
Cube Entertainment and HyunA agreed to terminate her contract on October 15. We would like to thank the artist who has been with us until now and the fans, the agency said in a statement.
A news report stated that as part of the termination agreement, Cube and HyunA agreed not to malign each other. However, the announcement did not cover the agencys position about EDawn.
After the agreement was announced, HyunA posted a video showing her and EDawn together.
The announcement came a little over a month after Cube Entertainment announced on 13 September that it had expelled HyunA and EDawn from the company for breach of trust stemming from their relationship.

However, the agency retracted the statement on the same day after it got backlash and its stock price dropped and said there was no final decision yet on the matter.
HyunA was reportedly not informed by the agency of its decision at the time and she only learned that her expulsion through the press.
She also reportedly handed a letter to Cube wherein she emphasized that she worked hard while she was in Cube for the last 10 years and added that she wanted to resolve the contract issue smoothly.
The HyunA-EDawn saga started last 3 August when they revealed that they were lovers. This immediately triggered protests from some Korean fans of Pentagon who asked Cube Entertainment for explanation. Other Korean fans demanded that EDawn be removed from the boy band.
After the revelation, Cube Entertainment suspended the activities and song promotions of Triple H, a project group composed of HyunA, EDawn and Pentagons Hui.
EDawns activities with Pentagon was also suspended and he was excluded from attending official Pentagon functions including performances. He was not part of Pentagons new album.
Foreign fans, meanwhile, launched a petition to keep EDawn in Pentagon. It now has over 91,000 signatures to date.
Recently, HyunA posted photos of her and EDawn on a date in Japan. The set of photos has been liked by 2 million people on Instagram to date.
