Aunt Becky may not return for the fifth and final season of Fuller House, but it doesnt sound as if the cast is abandoning Lori Loughlin for her alleged role in defrauding a major university. Stars Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin took the opportunity at Nickelodeons 2019 Kids Choice Awards to speak out in defense of their tight-knit TV family, warts and all.
“Family sticks together no matter what,” Cameron Bure said as the cast accepted a Favorite Funny TV Show award. Loughlin wasnt actually mentioned by name, but it was hard to miss the emphasis as she continued. “They stick together through the hard times,” she added. “They support each other, they encourage one another, they pray for each other and they stand by their side no matter how tough it gets. And a loving family that sticks together also celebrates the really good times together.”
“Yes, and this is one of those good times,” Sweetin chimed in.
Loughlin was infamously accused of participating in a widespread college admissions scheme that captured headlines earlier this month. Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, reportedly paid $500,000 to get their daughters accepted to the University of Southern California. In the wake of the scandal, Netflix reps stated there were “no plans” for Loughlins Fuller House character, Aunt Becky, to appear in the final season.
