The upcoming apocalyptic season of American Horror Story will be the first of the anthology series to officially combine two previous seasons. The fan theories about secret connections and Easter eggs have abounded for years, mostly due to the shows familiar recurring cast returning year after year, but there is one cast member we havent seen in a while. Jessica Langes Constance Langdon, the creepy neighbor of the doomed Harmon family from Season 1, is returning once more with what many theorize to be her adopted Antichrist child, combining AHSs first season with its third.
Lange hasnt been seen on American Horror Story shores since Season 4, dubbed “Freak Show,” where she portrayed an ambitious German expatriate carnival proprietor named Elsa Mars. In “Freak Show” and after, the whispers of an interconnected universe began to make themselves heard, with several characters, including many from “Asylum,” returning from previous seasons, and Twisty the Clown showing up again in Season 7.
Season 8, titled American Horror Story: Apocalypse, combines Season 1s “Murder House” with the witches of Season 3s “Coven,” and will probably, somehow, bring about the end of the world. Many fans believe itll have something to do with the child born of both human and spirit in “Murder House,” which Constance Langdon mysteriously spirited away at the end of the season. The addition of characters from “Coven” also means we might see a few others from later seasons return, like Lady Gagas original supreme witch from “Roanoke.” Returning actor Billy Eichner has said that the upcoming season will be, in a word, “insane.”
