For the last few years, a question has vexed the Avengers fandom: how will the titular superheroes destroy Thanos (played by Josh Brolin), the oversize grape of a villain who seems virtually indestructible? Among the many theories, one has reigned supreme in the Internets weirdest corners. That theory is as follows: in the final film in this phase of the series, Avengers: Endgame, Ant-Man (Paul Rudd)—the hero who can shrink to the size of an ant, then expand up to about 60 feet tall—will shrink, fly into Thanoss butt, and expand, thereby killing Thanos. The gluteal concept has spawned countless jokes from the fandom—and now Brolin has officially weighed in himself, sanctioning the theory once and for all.
On Friday, the actor posted a video of himself sitting on a toilet and straining to, uh, you know. “The tension around what Endgame is going to bring,” he wrote in the caption. “I can feel it, as you can see. Can you?

Brolin, giant goofball, loves this theory! How unpredictable. Back in July, a reporter presented Rudd with the theory as well; back then, the actor had a more even-keeled response. “I dont know,” Rudd said when asked if the theory could work. “If theres one thing we learned from Infinity War, its that Thanos—he can take a lot of punishment.”
Rudd added that he would be too afraid to present the theory to Brolin himself. “I would never wanna ask him,” he said. “Hes like a real cowboy. Hes a cool dude.” Well, apparently some mysterious Samaritan did the work for Rudd—and now we know where Brolin stands. Or sits.
