After dominating headlines in recent weeks with his controversial antics, Kanye West is back in the news for all the right reasons.

The 41-year-old has seen his latest album Ye not only receive rave reviews, but also earn him his eighth consecutive number one album on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.

Ye, which was released on 1 June, sold 208,000 equivalent album units in its first week. 85,000 of the seven-track LP, which features songs including I thought About Killing You and No Mistakes, were from physical copies. Critics have compared his new material to 2004s debut College Dropout and critically-acclaimed My Dark Twisted Fantasy, which spawned hits including All Of The Lights and Monster.

The self -proclaimed King of hip-hop is in good company. Fellow hip hop star Eminem and British icons The Beatles have also had eight consecutive albums top the chart.

Earlier this year, Kim Kardashians rapper husband made a controversial return to the limelight after taking a year-long hiatus from the music scene due to mental health issues. His outbursts about slavery being a choice and his friendship with President Donald Trump led to calls for a Kanye boycott.

However, it seems that West remains unfazed by the negative press. An emotional West expressed his gratitude to his 28.4mIllion Twitter followers, writing: I feel so blessed. For everyone that didnt turn they back. Im in tears right now. I love all of you.

Kanye West is clearly winning at life despite his epic slavery gaff.

He took on his wife Kims family in their face off on Celebrity Family Feud – and won.

Kanye bagged the $25,000 (£18,600) prize for his chosen charity after beating Kris Jenner, Khloe Kardashian and Kendall Jenner on the famed game show.
