Kim Dong Yoon spoke about his nerves going on stage in a video filmed months before his tragic death.
The Spectrum rapper died on 27 July aged just 20. His cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
Dongyoon debuted two months ago with Spectrum, but before that, he shot to fame on the talent competition series MIXNINE.
Before auditioning on the show in December 2017, he filmed a video diary with a letter to myself before going on stage.
Dongyoon introduced himself: I am Kim Dong Yoon, the maknae [youngest member] of WYNN Entertainment. Ive been a trainee for a year.
In the vlog, the rookie shared his worries about making mistakes on stage, as well as revealing he believed his skills were lacking.
Dongyoon said: Dongyoon – youve made many mistakes and are slower compared to others, but youve been working hard and enduring well. If you make mistakes while on stage, dont panic and get over it naturally. But if the mistake was very obvious… what should I say… if the mistake was very obvious, its not okay.

Youve been working hard so dont make any mistakes on stage and be cool.
Compared to others you havent been training as long and your skills are still lacking, but even so you still managed to get to where you are now with your hard work. Thats your strength, you punk. So lets work hard and do our best and succeed.
He continued: I dont know what kind of stage to expect but if we were to do those battle kinds of performances, I hope you can finish the stage without regrets, while having the thought “oh well, at least I had fun”.
If you get all nervous and tremble all over and forget what youre supposed to do, I think Im going to hate you for that. I really hope youll have fun on stage.
A battles a battle but I want to see your calm and relaxed side on TV. Youve worked so hard and put in so much effort. Dont be nervous. Lets have fun on stage without any regrets. Show others youre cool, relaxed and having fun on stage. You might still be lacking, but you can have fun on stage, right? Itll be really disappointing if you end the stage with regrets.
Dongyoon made it to episode 13 of MIXNINE, just missing out on the final, but went on to form Spectrum with Minjae, Dongkyu, Jaehan, Hwarang, Villain and Eunjun.

While he expressed his nerves before his MIXNINE audition, he had grown in confidence by his debut, telling Top Star News in May: It was so hard to practice and I couldnt sleep at the time, but I was so proud of it after I came out. When I was on stage, it was a great feeling… Its amazing to be an entertainer.
A statement from WYNN Entertainment on his death read: Our agencys artist and Spectrum member Kim Dong Yoon left our side on July 27. His family members, Spectrum members, and all the staff at WNNY Entertainment are grieving with a heavy heart over this sudden sad news.
We are so heartbroken and sorry to be conveying this sad news to Dong Yoons fans, who sincerely loved and generously encouraged him. According to the wishes of the family of the deceased, his funeral will be quietly. We express our condolences for his final path.
