McFly have revealed why now is the perfect time for their comeback, as they prepare to unleash their Lost Songs on fans ahead of their comeback gig.
Dougie Poynter, Danny Jones, Tom Fletcher and Harry Judd revealed they will be releasing one of their Lost Songs from their long awaited sixth album each week in the run up to their one-off show at Londons O2 on 20 November.
However, it wasnt just the fans who were left waiting for the fabled songs which the band had written almost 10 years ago – even Tom didnt have all of them in his personal collection.
He told Metro.co.uk: We didnt want to go in and re-record those songs, and put them out as “this is our definitive next studio album”.

Those songs have existed for over the last nine years as a collection of songs. And those songs literally tell a journey through those nine years that gets to round about now.
Danny added: And we listened in the car to them, just as every day, forget that no one else could hear them.
Tom explained: Some of them, even I think half of those songs, you know, I didnt have. I hadnt been able to listen to them as theyve been lost for me too.
While The Lost Songs wont be their next album, the band see it as their gift to the fans who have been begging them for the record for almost a decade.
They added: This is the perfect timing, weve got this show. And one of kind of things I feel like we need to do before we make that next album, is actually release these songs and actually put them out.

Thats why I feel so perfect, timing wise. What we love is that over the next 10 weeks, the fans whove been wanting these songs are kind of going to go on that journey weve been on for the last nine years.
