Netflix may have trimmed its superhero lineup of late, but the trio of Octavia Spencer, Melissa McCarthy and husband Ben Falcone could certainly fill that void. The two leading ladies have seemingly landed the major roles of Netflix movie Thunder Force, as written and directed by Bridesmaids alum Falcone.
Details are scant for the moment (lets be real, the source of Spencer and McCarthys superheroics are worth the wait), though Deadline at least confirmed Netflixs acquisition with a brief logline that affirms “the story will center on the two stars getting superpowers.” Marc Platt will executive produce with Falcone and McCarthy, who last collaborated in McCarthys Oscar-nominated Can You Ever Forgive Me?
Falcone made his feature directing debut with 2014s Tammy, and also directed McCarthy in 2016s The Boss, 2018s Life of the Party, and the upcoming Super Intelligence.
