Meryl Streep has asked why more people aren’t calling on Melania Trump to speak up in the wake of sexual harassment allegations.
Melania, whose husband President Donald Trump has been accused by various women of past sexual assault or harassment and was also caught on tape making crude and degrading comments about women, has never publicly spoken about the claims, whereas Meryl was blasted by many for failing to speak up earlier when allegations came out about Hollywood movie mogul Harvey Weinstei.
She has always denied ever knowing about the claims that were common knowledge to many in the industry.
Now she has fought back and suggested that she no longer wants to hear about her own silence but that of Melania, and Trump’s daughter Ivanka.
‘I don’t want to hear about the silence of me. I want to hear about the silence of Melania Trump,’ she told the New York Times.
‘I want to hear from her. She has so much that’s valuable to say. And so does Ivanka. I want her to speak now.’

A group of women came together in December 2017 to detail claims of sexual harassment against Trump; the alleged victims described how they were forcibly kissed and groped by the now president.
At least 13 women have come forward to accuse Trump. The incidents are alleged to have happened years ago.
