American tennis legend Mike Bryan has been fined $10,000 (£8,200) for pretending to shoot a line judge with his racquet.

The doubles specialist – a six-time US Open champion – was handed a code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct for his actions in a win alongside his brother Bob over Federico Delbonis and Roberto Carballes Baena and has now apologised for his actions.

In the backend of the second set, a lob from Delbonis was called in but upon a challenge from Mike Bryan, it was shown to be out.

Once he saw Hawk-Eyes decision, Bryan turned his racquet around simulating a rifle, looked down the imaginary sight and pretended to shoot the line judge responsible for not calling the ball out.
