Golf star and Instagram sensation Paige Spiranac spoke some truth about the pitfalls of social media late Tuesday night.

Spiranac had a lengthy post explaining how not everything you see on Instagram or social media is real, which I have argued for a very long time. She wrote in part:

I love social media and theres so much good that comes from it. Im able to connect with you all and share my life. However its just the highlights. I may look really happy here but today I cried because of my anxiety. I have a lot of anxiety. Ive struggled my whole life with feeling anxious and having panic attacks. Im actually really introverted, I have social anxiety, Im sensitive, and a perfectionist. Not a great mix at times haha and impacts my life daily. I try to always be positive and happy but its hard. Remember we all have our battles we are fighting everyday. Not everything is what it appears to be! But I never give up on myself and always try to be better and make decisions that make me happy. So heres to loving our flaws and being real! #selflove #forallmyanxiouspepsouthere #happy #smile

Look, I have said this time and time again. Social media is great. You get to see fun stuff on Twitter and Instagram is full of hot women. Those are two very strong positives.

However, there is also a downside. I have watched women that are desperate to become famous in college that they get absurd on Instagram. Again, nothing wrong for models to be doing that. Pretty crazy for some random women that are completely unknown to be doing it. I feel bad for these women. Its almost like they have no self-worth because social media has driven them so far down.

People see social media, and they think its real. Its not. Just like Spiranac said, its highlights, and that works for some people. Id prefer to see everything. Give me the realness, give the highs and let me see the lows. Thats way more interesting than nothing other than vacation pictures.
