Roseanne Plans to Skip Town When The Conners Premieres

Celebrities

Do you know where youll be when Roseanne revival spin-off The Conners premieres? Glued to the television? Purposefully tuned out? Or perhaps youre still till undecided. Roseanne Barr, whose racist tweet essentially paved the way for her revivals cancellation and the subsequent spin-off, is planning to be out of the country. On the latest episode of Rabbi Shmuley Boteachs podcast, Barr revealed that she would be in Israel, thank you very much, and has no plans to watch the show that has essentially eschewed her involvement and creative input.

“I have an opportunity to go to Israel for a few months and study with my favorite teachers over there, and thats where Im going to go, and probably move somewhere there and study with my favorite teachers,” Barr explained. “I have saved a few pennies and Im so lucky I can go . . . and study with any rabbi that I can ask to teach me, and its my great joy and privilege to be a Jewish woman.”

Barr opened up on the podcast about her conflicting emotions around the new series, which stars everyone from the original Roseanne—except, that is, for her.“Im not going to curse it or bless it,” she said of The Conners. “Im staying neutral. Thats what I do. Im staying neutral. Im staying away from it. Not wishing bad on anyone and I dont wish good for my enemies. I dont. I cant. I just stay neutral. Thats what I gotta do. I have some mental health issues of depression and stuff. I got to stay in the middle or Ill go dark, and I dont want to go dark again. Ive done it. After all, I was married to Tom Arnold.

She also hinted at a new “very funny” TV project shes been working on, that shes “very excited” about, but was loath to reveal any more details. Perhaps shell drop some more details from abroad.
