Sara Cox has been named the new host of BBC Radio 2 drivetime host and she thinks its fandabbydozy.
Less than a month after Zoe Ball landed Chris Evans coveted breakfast show, Sara was confirmed to replace Simon Mayo on the early evening show between 5-7pm.
Simon left the radio station after 17 years, leaving behind drivetime co-presenter Jo Whiley who was paired up with him earlier this year.
Jo will launch a brand new show on Radio 2 between 7-9pm in January, signifying a total girl power shake-up at the station.

Sara said she was beyond chuffed about taking over in the drivetime slot after seven years at the station.

In a statement on Monday morning, Sara declared: Ive been proud to be part of the Radio 2 family for a few years now.
And the opportunity to present such a big show as Drivetime – playing fantastic music and hopefully making people smile as they cook tea or head home after a days graft – is the icing on what is already a very brilliant cake.
Im beyond chuffed to be given this role and to directly quote my mum on hearing the good news, it is indeed “fandabbyruddydozy”.
The departure of Simon Mayo shocked listeners earlier this month, as he left the station after almost two decades to focus on his book deals.

Listeners had signed a 10,000-strong petition to axe his new partnership with Jo Whiley not long after it began in 2018 but the Radio 2 encouraged fans to give it a chance.
However, his unexpected decision to walk out this October followed only months after Chris Evans announced his resignation live on air.
Chris swiftly announced his jump to Virgin Radio to take over their breakfast show and Zoe was confirmed to replace him earlier this month after going head-to-head with friend Sara for the job.
