Whod have thought that Christmas would come around so fast. It doesnt seem any time at all since we saw the demise of Abi Branning in EastEnders or marvelled at Robert Sugdens bonkers coma visions in Emmerdale but here we are.
And we already have some juicy morsels of gossip on what this year holds. A big twist in Coronation Street, McQueen chaos in Hollyoaks, a big return to EastEnders and a wedding with a difference in Emmerdale.
Here is what we know so far…
Alfie is back to discover the baby secret?
Its no secret that Alfie Moon is heading back to Walford – and what better time than Christmas for a bubbling Slater secret to explode? For the best part of the year, viewers have been waiting for the paternity of Hayleys baby to leave Kat reeling.
Alfie is coming home for a reason – surely its only a matter of time before this secret explodes and rips the Slaters apart in an epic showdown?

An Emmerdale Christmas wedding
Emmerdale boss Jane Hudson recently teased: We have got a wedding at Christmas not going to tell you who but lets just say it will bring a different flavour to the village than youve had before.
When Metro.co.uk recently caught up with Anthony Quinlan, he coyly teased that the wedding may well be that of Pete and Rhona. But will they make it down the aisle if so?
Jenny in danger
Jenny is trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered marriage after discovering that Johnny cheated on her but recent snaps from behind the scenes shared by Corrie showed Jenny in a heap on the floor, surrounded by concerned friends.
Has she fallen ill – and could her life be hanging in the balance this Yuletide?
McQueen madness!
Hollyoaks boss Bryan Kirkwood has promised plenty of capers in an hour long McQueen spectacle this Christmas. With big revelations for Prince and Lily which could see her infidelity with Romeo exposed and some more juicy reveals, there will be showdowns aplenty.
Thats if everyone gets through Mercedess disastrous attempt at Christmas dinner.
Will Sally be released?
At the moment, Sally is languishing in prison accused of a crime she didnt commit but with her trial dated for towards the end of the year, viewers are hoping for a Christmas miracle. Of course, Duncan is a wily schemer, so will he see to it that Sally dines on prison sprouts this year?

Or will Sally emerge vindicated – only to discover that Gina has been trying to take her life?
Dingles ripped apart
With the bubbling secret of Joe Tates death hanging over Cain, he knows that Debbie will be heartbroken if she ever found out about his involvement. But secrets never stay secret forever and Jane Hudson has revealed that two Dingles will have their relationship shattered forever.
While she was not confirming a timescale, the seeds will at least be sprouting by Christmas were sure. Jane said: We have got huge rifts coming up in the Dingle clan that will blow apart two of our most loved characters and who knows if they will ever get back to where they used to be?
Mick and Stuarts violent showdown
As Mick suffers behind bars thanks to Stuart framing him, he is bound to want revenge when the truth finally comes to light. Theres a dramatic two hander in the offering and EastEnders has also filmed a vicious showdown between Mick and Stuart.
This confirms that Mick will be outside of prison. Whether he is released or escapes is unconfirmed but he only wants one thing – Stuarts blood. He raises a crowbar to attack – will he murder Stuart?
Love is in the Dales air
Next year, there is going to be a romantic proposal so we can only expect that the characters in question might be already starting to toy with the idea of the big commitment come Christmas time. So who is set to pop the question?

Jane teased: We have a proposal next year between two of our characters – itll be a very romantic proposal but Ill leave you to work out who thats between!
A big EastEnders return
Now we cant confirm whether he was talking about Alfie or Phil or whether Dean Gaffney was alluding to a third return, but the actor promised that the familiar face will be the centre of the action this Christmas.
With both Alfie and Phil, Christmas drama is a given as they both are yet to discover life changing secrets. But will we be seeing someone else we know pop up?
A major Corrie twist
Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod wants a Christmassy Christmas – lots of carols, fun and laughter. But soap can never go without a bit of drama so he also recently revealed that they episode would end with a shocking turn of events.
Intriguing!
Nativity joy in Coronation Street
Speaking more on the festive plans, he said: Well, the seeds of the stories for Christmas are planted in the big episodes in October, without giving too much away. I wanted it to be a Christmassy Christmas, obviously theres a history in soap of trying to go and do the Angie and Den Christmas where its all acrimony and divorce papers and vitriol.
Thats not really my preference, when you sit down as you try and digest your stuffing balls and sprouts, you need it to be warm and light-hearted in places and you need it to reek of Christmas. So, itll be a Christmassy Christmas, itll have some big, heartbreaking stories within that, itll have a big shock at the end and hopefully itll be a surprising pay off to those stories that youve just seen the inception of here.

Classic EastEnders darkness
It looks like a completely different story over in Walford way. We asked a number of cast members what is in store this Christmas and all of them agreed that it would be silly to detract too far from EastEnders usual formula.
So expect darkness, grit and showdowns!
