Subversive summery images raise the temperature at new London outdoor gallery

Art lovers withering in the UKs current heatwave should head for the Outside Art Project, a new permanent outdoor gallery located in the open spaces of the Kings Cross Estate, north London, near Granary Square. For the launch show, Games We Play (until 1 November), a series of witty and warm summertime images by Luke Stephenson, Julie Cockburn and Weronika Gęsicka are dotted around 15 seating benches (all socially distanced of course). The show, organised by The Photographers Gallery in London, serves up sunkissed scenes such as a melting ice cream adorned with a shower of rainbow-bright toppings, along with a series of audacious 1940s bathers.
