In 15 minutes, 35 firefighters knocked down the fire. It caused no injuries and no threat to a nearby school, authorities said.

A report from the scene said the campus was Valley Presbyterian School, where children were briefly evacuated before being allowed back in.

LAFD spokeswoman Amy Bastman could not immediately verify the information.

One person, however, was being evaluated on-scene with an unknown medical injury reportedly not caused by the fire, authorities said.

A report at the scene said the woman lived in the home and may have tripped trying to escape, but Bastman could not confirm the information.

The cause of the fire and financial loss to the home are to be determined, authorities said.
