Classic movies get the TWICE treatment.

JYPEs superstar girl group TWICE are back today with a fun MV that pays tribute to the movies. What is Love? sees the girls joyfully recreating scenes from blockbusters like Ghost, La La Land, Pulp Fiction, and more.

Fancy dress is nothing new for TWICE, as their Halloween costume styled video for TT proved, but the styling this time is even more wickedly fun.

Theres Tzuyu in a snappy suit, doing a Travolta-style Pulp Fiction dance-off in one shot, and a La La Land-style twirl with Momo in another. Theres also Nayeon in a bad perm and glasses, trying her best to embody a dowdy schoolgirl for the opening sequence of The Princess Diaries. Trying and failing, as she just looks cuter than ever peeping around her locker nervously at the other members.

In fair Verona, meanwhile, Jeongyeon plays a bashful Romeo to Tzuyus angelic Juliet. Jeongyeon steps into the supporting boy roles for many of the scenes, but no one beats her turn as a female lead. In a genius move from JYP, shes Demi Moore in Ghost – and an over-enthusiastic Sana helps her nail the classic pottery wheel scene.

Aside from that fanboy gift, the absolute scene-stealers this time are Dahyun and Chaeyoung with a comically-timed homage to hitman flick Leon – shades, beard and plant included.

Theres also a few lesser-known flicks getting the TWICE remake. Mina stars in a scene from French 80s movie La Boum, and Jihyo goes back to school for a Japanese drama, Love Letter.

Movie references aside, the MV is an enjoyable ride, one that begs to be replayed as soon as the red curtains swish closed. The song itself is classic TWICE – up-tempo dance beats combined with cute, sharp choreography and a catchy English chorus line. Whats not to love?
