Three family members found dead inside of a Palmdale home as a result of a triple homicide have been identified as the investigation continues into their killing.

Richard Gardner II, 78, his wife Pepper Gardner, 56, and Richard Gardner III, 52, were identified on Monday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The homicide occurred around 3:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 on the 1100 block of West Avenue N-12, authorities said.

A relative requested sheriff’s deputies to “check on the welfare” of the residents, authorities said, and during the check they found a man deceased inside the home.

As their investigation continued, deputies found another man and woman — also deceased — in another room, authorities said.

The victims matched the description of the people known to live at the residence, authorities said, and all were reported to have “suffered some trauma to their bodies.”

On Monday, authorities said, investigators were still processing the scene and following up on information related to a possible suspect.

Suspect information was still unknown, and authorities had nothing further on Tuesday morning.
