Hoping to avoid a legal dust-up, Warner Bros. is demanding President Donald Trump take down a Twitter post that uses unauthorized music from one of their biggest movie of the last decade.
The move comes hours after the ex-Celebrity Apprentice host tweeted a provocative campaign video Tuesday, set to the score of The Dark Knight Rises, Christopher Nolans final film in the directors hugely successful Batman trilogy.
“The use of Warner Bros. score from The Dark Knight Rises in the campaign video was unauthorized,” WB told Deadline in a statement. “We are working through the appropriate legal channels to have it removed.”
However, an insider said the video with the Hans Zimmer tune “Why Do We Fall?” from the 2012 flicks soundtrack is actually in the process of being taken down. In quick succession after the clip was first posted by Team Trump, the expected bringing down of the video rules out any need for Warner Bros. to instigate any lawsuits, the source also tells us.
Trump tweeted the campaign-like clip at 4:43 p.m. ET Tuesday.
