Wileys clashed with the best of em

Wiley isnt exactly the type of artist to bite his tongue and pretty much no one is spared from his scathing words. Not even superstars like Drake and Ed Sheeran.

This week, the godfather of grimes tension with Ed reached boiling point when the popstar responded to Wileys recent claims that he doesnt care about grime.

Its just the latest in a long line of beef Wiley, 40, has been involved in over the course of his career – and it probably wont be the last.

Heres a look back at those who have rattled Eskiboys cage…

Wiley and Drake

Believe it or not, there wasnt always animosity between Wiley and Drake.

Back in 2016, Wiley discussed the trend of US artists coming over and collaborating with grime stars and actually praised Drizzy for working with acts on this side of the pond.

He told Time Out of Drake, who is Canadian, getting involved with the scene: Maybe not him. He seems to understand.

But every other North American, they appreciate it, but they cant put our accent before their own. Its sad and its brutal and no one wants to hear me say it, but after all the years Ive been doing it Ive finally realised it.

Pretty civilised.

Cut to October 2018 and Wiley posted a series of Instagram Story clips shades Skepta – another rival who well get to later – for hanging out with Drizzy at Wimbledon.

But their feud majorly escalated in April 2019 when Wiley slammed the Gods Plan rapper for supporting UK artists on his Assassination Vacation Tour.

Wiley branded the rapper a culture vulture for bringing out artists like J Hus, Dave, Fredo and Krept & Konan out on stage during his multiple O2 Arena shows.

Reacting to Wileys comments, Drake told BBC 1Xtra: It is what it is, I see a lot and Ill never understand how supporting somebodys song or even going a step further and giving somebody a song or linking up.

Ill never understand how thats not viewed as something admirable but I guess people have their own outlook on it.

Wiley's tweets explaining his Drake feud

Thats just something I wanted to get off my chest. I just had to talk about it because its bothering me.

Wiley escalated the beef when he dragged Giggs into the drama due to his friendship with Drake but, of course, The Landlord wasnt having any of it.

The Heatwave rapper then gave his followers whiplash by later claiming he is team Drake after all.

It was all quiet on the western front until this month, when Wiley declared Drake a pagan and one of the worst culture vultures on the planet alongside Ed Sheeran.

He stated: The war has started [again].

Wiley and Dizzee Rascal and Skepta

One of Wileys longest-running feuds.

Way back in the early noughties, Dizzee was a member of Wileys Roll Deep collective and was always seen as a protege to the grime legend.

They were considered good friends and collaborated on tracks like Bounce, U Were Always and 2 Far from Dizzees debut album Boy In Da Corner.

But their major fallout stems from a 2003 incident in Ayia Napa.

Wileys feud with Dizzee is perhaps his longest-running

A brawl reportedly erupted between So Solid Crew and Roll Deep when Dizzee allegedly pinched Lisa Mafias bum.

According to the long-running rumours at least.

Dizzee was allegedly dragged from his scooter and received injuries, including a reported stab wound, requiring medical attention.

Recalling the incident, Wiley told Time Out in 2016: The reason we havent spoken for so many years?… Basically, me and Dizzee went out one night [in Ayia Napa] and there was some fighting with another crew… Then the next day, I decided to carry it on – I didnt pull out a knife.

I was just fighting… Well, after we started it up again, those guys came looking for us. But the person they found was Dizzee. The thing we done the next morning led them to go looking for us, but see him and stab him.

He added in hindsight: Now Im older, I can see: Dizzee in his head will always be thinking: “I know we got into a beef. I know something started. But you lot carried it on the next day. If you had left it I wouldnt have got stabbed”. That is the reason me and Dizzee havent spoken all these years.

Over the coming years, Wiley and Dizzee would throw shots at each other on diss tracks like their respective Helping People Out and Respect Me.

In 2017, rumours emerged that Dizzee had penned another diss track aimed at Wiley, who responded: Dizzee is sending for me because he wants me to make him relevant again, and I should just let him rot in the corner with his Boy In Da Corner LP. But he knows I will say something to him, dont he? Nice try.

Later that year, the pair clashed publicly with Dizzee reportedly making allegations against Wiley of underage sex.

Wiley denied the claims.

The bitter feud was reignited again in October 2018 when Wiley posted a lengthy Instagram rant, criticising Skepta for collaborating with Dizzee on the track Money Right.

You know why Im the king? Because I tell people to work with you, you tell people to “f**k Wiley. F**k grime, Im a pop star. F**k all them man”. You and Skepta, I hope youre happily ever after bruv, he said.

Wiley and Lethal B

This feuds not as scathing as the previously mentioned by beef nonetheless.

Wiley and Lethal B have traded disses with each other on tracks for years, including Lethal throwing shots over Kylie Minogues Cant Get You Out Of My Head.

Yep, its as wild as it sounds.

Wiley responded with Athletes Foot. Make of that what you will.
