Westlife announced their exciting news in a video earlier this month.

It saw them each sitting on their famous stools as they prepared to make an announcement. But as they counted down to their big news, Nicky jokingly stood up while the other stayed sitting, playing on their classic key change routine which saw them stand up at the dramatic moment in their songs.

Oh, you guyyyyys!

I thought we were doing the key change! exclaims Nicky before the lads add: Well be seeing you soon.

A message then appeared on the screen reading Westlife, new music, new tour, while Shane could be heard shouting well be seeing you soon in the background.

No doubt theyll be hoping to top the charts once again after signing a new deal with Universal Records.

Its been rumoured that Ed Sheeran was involved in writing the bands comeback single so with his magic and their magic, we can expect something pretty epic.

Rumours of a reunion have regularly been attached to the band – which used to also include Brian McFadden – and although Brian had confirmed he would be interested in reuniting with the lads, Shane confirmed earlier in 2018 that if they were to return to the music scene it would be without Brian.

Brian has now been confirmed to star in the upcoming series of Dancing On Ice.

I havent seen Brian in 10 years. Weve just lost touch, its like going to school with somebody and then not speaking, he said.

I wouldnt speak to him to reminisce, not all all. We all had a good relationship with Brian then he just left the band very early on and I dont think we would ever reunite with him.

He added that if a reunion were to happen it would be just the four of them, who split after 14 years together.

I honestly see Westlife as being four people now – the four people who started and finished Westlife are what I consider the band, he said.

Brian has been out of the band longer than he was in it. If we ever reunited down the line it would only be the four of us.

Well, Shanes stuck to his word.

Their tour comes 20 years after the boys first formed in 1998, with Bryan leaving six years later.

Westlife had a string of chart-topping hits in their heyday, including Swear It Again, Flying Without Wings, Uptown Girl, Bop Bop Baby, World Of Our Own, Fool Again, When Youre Looking Like That and What Makes A Man (we could go on).
