Tired of this cold? Good, it'll get warm(ish) again. And rainy.

Storm Team 4 says another wet system is expected to arrive late Thursday into Friday, bringing milder air and up to an inch of rain for a wide swath of the region. Spots north and west of the city could see a brief wintry mix at the onset of the precipitation late Thursday, but most of the area will just see rain.

The heaviest rain is expected to move through during the middle of the day; most spots could see a half inch to an inch of water by the time the showers taper off in the evenings. After dry and chilly weather Christmas week, temps soar into the high 50s Friday, then drop into the low 50s Saturday.

But it won't last: they're set to plunge near the freezing mark on Sunday, Storm Team 4 says.

Earlier Wednesday, Storm Team 4 had warned of a possible coastal storm that could impact the tri-state area on Sunday. By the afternoon, though, that system had tracked even further south, meaning no snow threat at this time.
