While the devastating ending to Avengers: Infinity War was as much a shock to most of the cast as it was to heartbroken fans, Paul Rudd managed to find out years before his co-stars – despite not even starring in the movie.

He doesnt even go here.

While many of the stars were left in the dark about Thanos wiping out half the population with a snap of his fingers, Paul claims he just had to know in order to film Ant-Man. How convenient.

The 50-year-old explained: I knew about it early on because when we were writing Ant-Man, I had to know about these things.

He added to Digital Spy: I had to know about some stuff in the future because we were going to have to address it in some way. I remember hearing about it and thinking, “Oh wow, thats gonna be major,” and then years later, lo and behold…

Black Widow star Scarlett Johansson described the move as brave when she found out, recalling: I think Joe Russo called me, either it was Joe Russo or Kevin Feige or the combination of the two called me to talk to me about the Snap, and I was like, “That is so brave, how are you gonna get out of that?”

They were like, “Well figure it out.”

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that the devastating Snap may not have even ended up being included in Infinity War.

Infinity War and Endgame co-writer Stephen McFeely has revealed all that heartache was initially slated to occur in the middle of Endgame.

He told Empire magazine: We had so much story in those early drafts of Infinity War that, if anything, we thought we maybe shouldnt do The Snap until the end of act one of Endgame.

However, they later decided on the epic cliffhanger as it was the most bananas thing they could think up.

Marvel president Kevin Feige said: We talked about that ending for years and years and years. It was the reason to adapt Infinity Gauntlet. What was the most shocking thing we could do? End the movie with The Snap.
