If youve seen summer blockbuster Mammia Mia! Here We Go Again, youll know pop queen Cher is more than a match for the hits of ABBA.

So it makes sense that shes releasing an entire album of ABBA covers, with new single Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! A Man After Midnight being the first track from the record.

Stuffed with thumping bass, soaring synths and super-slick auto-tuned vocals, the new track is a straight-up club banger perfect for a Friday night boogie.

It does justice to the original and brings to mind the anthems of 1980s Madonna or Kylies iconic hits of the early 1990s – both of whom have become icons for the gay community.

Chers tribute album, entitled Dancing Queen, will feature some of ABBAs best-loved classics such as Waterloo, SOS and Mamma Mia.

Its set for a 28 September release, but the 72-year-old signer has dropped her take on Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! today.

The release follows her appearance in Mamma Mia 2 last month, which saw her sing Fernando to a long lost love at granddaughter Sophies party.

It was iconic (obviously).

Cher got to hang out with Meryl Streep on set and the pair later renewed their friendship at the premiere.

Stepping out at Londons Hammersmith Apollo, the BFFs looked glamorous in their designer outfits while posing for the camera on a blue carpet.

Cher stunned in a floor-length black gown and her signature black curls, while Meryl rocked a bright blue dress paired with gem-encrusted black heels.

They were joined by fellow castmembers Lily James, Andy Garcia, Colin Firth and Amanda Seyfried – plus a host of celebrities desperate to see the new movie.
