Coronation Street viewers have been full of praise for Peter Ashs performance as Paul Foreman, after his character opened up about being sexually abused by his stepdad, Kel (Joseph Alessi).
In emotional scenes from tonights instalment, Paul told Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) the truth about what happened with Kel, explaining they had a secret sexual relationship when he was just 14-years-old.
Speaking about what happened between them, Billy tried to get through to Paul that he was abused, while worrying that the predator could be about to strike again on the cobbles.
However, Paul insisted he made the first move, not Kel, and that he was in love with his stepdad.
And viewers watching on at home flocked to Twitter to rave about the powerful scenes.

The importance of that is that someone might understand more about child sexual abuse now. The abuse is, the twisted love, and then lack of it for himself.
