In the last three Grand Slams of 2019, David Goffin has lost to a member of the Big Three.

Defeats to Rafael Nadal in Paris and Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon saw Goffin lose to the eventual champion. Roger Federer will hope that run extends after humbling the Belgian 6-2 6-2 6-0 to reach the quarter-finals of the US Open.

Goffin admitted the trio are still comfortably ahead of the rest of the field, despite all being comfortably in their 30s, citing their elite mentality as the main factor that separates them from the chasing pack.
