EastEnders fans are in for some disappointment tonight when they sit down on their sofa to tune into the Walford action and try and figure out what the hell is going on with Phil Mitchell and Aidan Maguire’s heist story. Instead, they will find something even more baffling – a bloody football match.
But before you go into your kitchen and start smashing plates up, we aren’t being diddled out of an episode here. Let’s not forget that both Monday and Tuesday’s episodes were on for an hour and we even had a cheeky Wednesday visit slipped in as a bonus treat so we have had over our usual weekly quota of Albert Square drama.

Liverpool are playing Everton if you fancy sticking with the BBC or if you still need a soap fix, the other shows are airing some big developments tonight as Debbie Dingle fights back against Joseph Tate in Emmerdale, Pat Phelan strikes again in Coronation Street and the build up to the tunnel crash continues in Hollyoaks.
As for EastEnders only fans, you will have to wait until Monday to discover what is in store for Phil Mitchell after than grave robbery disaster. The episode will also see the welcome return of Maisie Smith as teenager Tiffany Butcher.
You just have to endure a (shudder) weekend first.
