Pop the champagne, cut the cake and give a cheer for much loved Emmerdale couple Robron, who finally managed to get engaged in tonights episode.
Its been a frustrating wait for fans of the couple. The pair have been on and off, driven apart by Roberts cheating and Sebs birth. Theyve also had a rough time with Aaron struggling with self harm and Rebeccas recent disappearance. And the two couldnt even propose without angst.
Aaron and Robert planned the same proposal, on the same day, without the other knowing, but neither could pull it together at the end of last week.
Tonight, both were sulking. Aaron was complaining about Robert, when Chas suggested he have lunch with her. Later, Robert whinged to Victoria about how difficult it was to plan a proposal. Liv interrupted and suggested that Robert find Aaron, before he went to lunch with Chas. Robert promptly left baby Seb with a reluctant Victoria and went to offer his boyfriend a lift to lunch.

Meanwhile Chas and Liv teamed up, both being as fed up as any Robron fan. Chas made reservations at a restaurant for the pair and phoned Aaron, pretending that she was running late. If all went well, Chas and Liv hoped, the two would get engaged over a romantic meal. But fate had better plans.
Robert and Aaron were arguing in the car when it slowed – the vehicle had run out of petrol. It was only when the pair climbed out of the car – still sniping at each other – that they realised where they were – the same lay-by where Robert had first kissed Aaron years before.
They dug out some beers, which Robert had hidden in the boot and got to talking. They reminisced about their past. Robert told Aaron that meeting him had changed his life. Then each realised that the other had planned to propose and so, hastily and talking at the same time, each asked the other to marry him.
Meanwhile, back in the pub, Chas was unimpressed when she heard that the pair had failed to show up at the fancy restaurant shed booked for them. But her irritation didnt last long. Robert and Aaron soon strolled in and announced their engagement.
There was universal delight and Robert even asked Aaron to adopt Seb, if Rebecca failed to return. As the champagne flowed, Aaron readily agreed.
But out in the woods, Lachlan had taken Seb to visit his captive mother. In a remarkable twist, the teen told Rebecca that he would steal Seb away from Robert and let Rebecca take Seb out of the country. Lachlan added that Robert didnt deserve Seb.

Has the vengeful teen set his sights on Robert next? Heres hoping that Robrons happiness lasts for at least a few more episodes.
