When opportunity knocks, youve just got to seize the moment.

And thats certainly what Hayley Atwell did when it came to securing her latest role in the new Disney movie Christopher Robin.

The Marvel star plays Evelyn Robin, the wife of the titular character, in the newly-released film – which of course draws plenty of inspiration from A.A Milnes Winnie The Pooh stories.

But the chance to play Evelyn nearly eluded Atwell entirely.

The 36-year-old recalled this week the time she received a call about the film from her agent – which she took while holidaying on a yacht in the Aegean Sea in the Mediterranean, no less.

Atwells agent informed her that Christopher Robins director Marc Foster wanted to Skype her there and then about playing Evelyn – which is kind of a tricky thing to do when youre floating in the middle of the sea and have no WiFi.

Luckily, the captain of the yacht she was on board had a rather nifty suggestion – which involved using the vessels accompanying jet ski.

The captain of the boat went, “You see that rock? Go 10 minutes past that rock in the general direction, and once youve lost all visuals of civilisation, you might get a spot where you can speak to [Roberts],” she recalled.

So I put my life jacket on, got on a jet ski, went past the rock and out into the ocean.

I turned off the engine, was bobbing up and down, and was like, “Welcome to my office, Marc. This is how I do business.”

Just a normal day at the office for Hayley Atwell, clearly.
