All hail the female superhero!
Hot on the heels of Wonder Woman and the upcoming Captain Marvel – plus the news that Captain Marvel will be leading the new phase of the MCU – comes the news that Sony are planning an adaptation of the Valiant Comics superhero story Faith, the first plus size superhero.
American Gods scribe Maria Melnik has been hired to write the script although little is known about the plot.
As her superhero alter-ego Zephyr, Faith is telekinetic, can fly, and wears a badass all-white costume.
She originally appeared in 1992 in the Valiant comic series Harbinger as a young teen who loved comic books, science-fiction movies, the TV shows of Joss Whedon, and nerd fandom.
Joining the Harbinger Foundation she found she could become a real superhero but left the crew to go solo.
In 2015 it was confirmed she would receive her own series, and the creator of the series, Jody Houser, told Mashable: One of the biggest challenges for [Faith] will be learning to stand on her own in a dangerous situation.

Shes up for the challenge though, and it will be a lot of fun to see just how far she can push herself and her powers.
The stuff Faiths up against is a bit more relatable than the usual comic book stuff as she has to deal with working with her ex-boyfriend, which is pretty awkward, and a not-that-exciting day job.
But she also uncovers a massive alien conspiracy so swings and roundabouts.
