While many people might cringe at a re-imagining – leave those classics alone! – this one we can kind of get on board with.
It sounds almost too bizarre to be true, but Ryan Reynolds is said to be at the helm of a new version of Home Alone, centred around a stoner kid who gets left home alone and has to defend his house from burglars while stoned up to the eyeballs.
The original starred Macaulay Culkin as a troublesome kid who gets forgotten by his family when they head to Paris for Christmas, and hes forced to defend his house from burglars. The new version will be much the same, with added weed.
According to Deadline, it will centre on a twenty-something who grows cannabis and misses the plane for his skiing holiday.

As he becomes more paranoid while taking the drug, he imagines the house is being burgled. And then he realises it actually is.
He then has to protect the property while completely stoned. The movie is currently listed as in development on IMDB.
The original was released in 1990 and launched the career of Culkin. It grossed $477 million (£361 million) from a production budget of $18 million (£13.6 million) as well as spawning four sequels.
Stoned Alone, said to be in development at Fox, is set to be directed by American filmmaker Augustine Frizzell while Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider wrote the script.
