Spanish side Almeria have signed Nottingham Forest winger Arvin Appiah and decided to troll Manchester United in their announcement tweet.

Appiah is considered one of the most exciting young English talents and had signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Nottingham Forest last January.

But the 18-year-old has been heavily linked with a move this summer and United were one of several clubs tracking the youngster.

Uniteds reported interest appears to have sparked some gentle teasing from Almeria, who play in second division in Spain.

A tweet read: Sorry Manchester United, Arvin Appiah is red and white.

After scoring on his debut for Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup last season, Appiah managed just eight appearances for the Championship side.

The right winger has represented England through the youth ranks, stepping up to the U-19s side in March. Almeria are believed to have forked out £8million on Appiah.
