Khabib Nurmagomedov has insisted he is not interested in a rematch with Conor McGregor and will only fight the Irishman again when he proves himself.

McGregor was humbled by Nurmagomedov on his return to the UFC last October, losing a one-sided fight via a fourth-round submission.

Nurmagomedov is scheduled to fight for the first time since that grudge match this Saturday, taking on interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier.

McGregor has admitted he is keen to gain revenge over Nurmagomedov sooner rather than later, but the Russian warned fans that was unlikely.

This guy [McGregor] have to come back and make nine or ten-fight win streak. Then we gonna fight, Nurmagomedov told ESPN.

Maybe people who watch this interview, they think, “Oh, he think about this, but when UFC ask this guy to fight Conor for millions of dollars, this guy is gonna take it”. No. Fight. Come back and show who are you.

I want to fight those guys. I dont want to fight with a guy who never wins.
